How to create a Wi-Fi QR code

Enter your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears.
Enter the Wi-Fi password and choose the security type (usually WPA).
Add a caption such as “Scan to join Wi-Fi”.

Frequently asked questions

Do phones support Wi-Fi QR codes?

Yes. The built-in camera on Android 10+ and iPhone (iOS 11+) recognises Wi-Fi QR codes and offers to join the network.

Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?

No. The QR code is generated in your browser. Anyone who scans the printed code can see the password, so only display it where you are happy to share it.

What if my password changes?

Create a new QR code with the new password and replace the printed one.
