How accurate is my location?

With GPS outdoors, usually within 5–20 metres. Indoors or on a laptop, the location comes from Wi-Fi or the mobile network and can be off by hundreds of metres. The accuracy is shown with the result.

What are latitude and longitude?

Coordinates that mark any point on Earth. Latitude is north or south of the equator; longitude is east or west of Greenwich. For example, Hyderabad is about 17.38° N, 78.49° E.

What is a Plus Code?

A short code like 7J9W9FPP+2M that works as an address for places without a street address. You can type it into Google Maps.

Why is my IP location in a different city?

IP location shows where your internet provider’s equipment is, not where you are. Mobile networks often route through a big city far away. Use GPS for your real position.

Is my location stored?

No. We don’t store or see your location. To show the street address, the coordinates are sent to BigDataCloud’s address service.
