- Choose intra-state (CGST + SGST) or inter-state (IGST) supply.
About this calculator
To add GST: GST = amount × rate ÷ 100, and total = amount + GST. To remove GST from an inclusive price: net amount = price ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100), and GST = price − net amount.
Frequently asked questions
How do I remove 18% GST from a total?
Divide the total by 1.18. For ₹1,180, the net amount is ₹1,000 and the GST is ₹180 (₹90 CGST + ₹90 SGST, or ₹180 IGST).
What are the current GST rates?
Since 22 September 2025 GST has two main slabs, 5% and 18%, plus a 40% rate for luxury and sin goods. Some items are taxed at 0%, 0.25% or 3% (gold and jewellery).
When is IGST charged instead of CGST and SGST?
IGST applies when the supplier and the place of supply are in different states (inter-state). Within the same state, the tax is split equally into CGST and SGST.
